Key Responsibilities
- Engage with community members and stakeholders to assess health needs and deliver effective health promotion initiatives across Ontario.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret epidemiological data to inform disease prevention strategies and public health decision-making.
- Design and implement educational programs that raise awareness around public health risks and encourage healthy behaviors.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organizations to support integrated public health approaches.
- Prepare detailed reports on program outcomes, trends, and compliance with Ontario public health standards.
- Monitor disease outbreaks and participate in emergency response planning related to public health threats within the province.
- Conduct targeted outreach to priority populations to reduce health disparities and improve access to services.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Applicants must hold current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ontario with a specialization or substantial experience in public health nursing. A degree in nursing with a focus on epidemiology, health promotion, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Minimum registration as an RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Demonstrated expertise in epidemiology and public health nursing practice aligned with Ontario standards.
- Strong skills in data analysis, interpretation, and health-related reporting.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to foster community engagement and collaboration.
- Experience designing and delivering effective health promotion and disease prevention programs.
- Capacity to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams, adapting to evolving public health priorities.
