Responsibilities

  • Provide first- and second-level technical support via help desk ticketing systems such as Jira and ServiceNow, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and networking.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems involving Windows Server environments, including administration and maintenance tasks.
  • Offer remote assistance using specialized tools to support employees and clients across various locations in Ontario.
  • Maintain and update system documentation, including problem solutions, workflows, and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with other IT team members to identify and implement process improvements and ensure timely ticket resolution.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and support networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP configurations.
  • Coordinate and participate in scheduled system updates, backups, and security patch deployments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience in help desk support or IT technical support roles within a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with commonly used ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall basics.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Experience with remote assistance tools to diagnose and resolve end-user issues effectively.
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals, or Network+.
  • Experience supporting diverse IT infrastructures in a mid-sized or large organization.
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools to help streamline routine tasks.
  • Previous experience in a hybrid working environment with strong organizational skills.
