Responsibilities
- Lead and support the mechanical design and analysis of complex helicopter components and assemblies utilizing advanced CAD software such as CATIA and SolidWorks.
- Develop, test, and validate mechanical systems and subsystems ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and certification standards.
- Integrate composite materials and mechanical systems within rotorcraft designs, advancing lightweight and durable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including systems integration, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Participate in engineering reviews, risk assessments, and design iteration cycles to enhance safety and performance.
- Document design processes, test findings, and certification data adhering to regulatory and company standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying industry best practices, new technologies, and engineering innovations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution (Master’s degree preferred).
- Proven proficiency in CAD software including CATIA and SolidWorks for designing aerospace components.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FAA regulations, certification processes, and compliance requirements related to rotorcraft.
- Experience working with composite materials and integrating mechanical systems in aerospace applications.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in mechanical design validation and testing.
- Preferred: Familiarity with systems integration within vertical lift platforms and previous Bell Helicopter or similar aerospace industry experience.
- Preferred: Experience with safety standards and implementation of failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
